After a 2022 season plaugued by injuries, the Baltimore Ravens will be hoping to return to the top of the AFC North once again.
With quarterback Lamar Jackson now healthy again, and on a record five-year $260 million deal, Ravens fans can have renewed confidence going into 2023.
Tight end Mark Andrews will be the top target for the Ravens on offense if he stays healthy, but if Baltimore are to be serious Super Bowl contenders they will need more than just the one target for Jackson to trust.
Three players are fighting for top spot on the wide receiver depth chart, each with their own argument as to why they should be Jackson's go-to-guy after Andrews.
Odell Beckham Jr.
Odell Beckham Jr. has a new home for the fourth time in his career, and at 30 years old he will try to prove he is still the player who was selected for three straight Pro Bowls and won Super Bowl LVI in February 2022 with the Los Angeles Rams.
That game, a 23-20 win over the Cincinnati Bengals, was the last match Beckham Jr. played in as he spent the whole of the 2022 recovering from an ACL injury.
Nobody doubts the talent of 'OBJ', his famous one-handed catch for the New York Giants in his rookie season proved it to the world, but he is also a player who has not topped six touchdowns in a season since 2016.
He has topped 1,000 yards in five of his eight seasons playing in the NFL, and if Jackson brings out the old Beckham Jr. the other wide receivers in Baltimore may be in for a quiet season.
Zay Flowers
From one end of the experience scale to the other, and many people's prediction for who will be getting the most attention from Jackson in 2023.
The Ravens used their first round pick in the 2023 NFL Draft to select Boston College prospect Zay Flowers.
In his senior year in college, Flowers put up 78 catches for 1,077 yards and 12 touchdowns, impressing the Ravens enough to use their 22nd overall pick on him.
Flowers has the speed and talent to be a real down-field threat for Baltimore in 2023, but the biggest question mark is whether at 5ft 10in he can compete with the physicality of the NFL's cornerbacks.
Rashod Bateman
Just 12 months ago, Ravens fans were waiting in anticipation for what was expected to be a breakout campaign for Rashod Bateman.
However what was meant to be a dream campaign turned into more of a nightmare, as the former first round pick made just 15 catches for 285 yards and two touchdowns before suffering a Lisfranc injury.
Bateman does have two seasons of chemistry with Jackson, something the rest of the wide receiver room do not have, and he showed that in week two in 2022 on a 75-yard touchdown play.
Whether Bateman can bounce back at all from 2022 remains to be seen, even if he does the arrival of Beckham Jr. and Flowers will make his quest to be the number one wideout that much tougher.
