Leading the Philadelphia Eagles to the Super Bowl came with a lucrative reward for quarterback Jalen Hurts.
The 25-year-old star signed a mammoth five-year, $255 million contract extension this past April. Hurts' deal includes $179.304 million in total guarantees, including $110 million fully guaranteed at signing, in addition to the first no-trade clause in Eagles history, as reported by NFL.com.
After falling just short of winning the Super Bowl championship, the stakes will be even higher for Hurts and his Eagles moving forward.

Where was Jalen Hurts selected in the NFL Draft?
The Philadelphia Eagles tabbed Hurts out of Oklahoma with the second-round 53rd overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft. The quarterbacks selected ahead of him that draft class included: Joe Burrow (Cincinnati Bengals), Tua Tagovailoa (Miami Dolphins), Justin Herbert (Los Angeles Chargers) and Jordan Love (Green Bay Packers).
A painful learning experience his rookie year
See playing time in 15 games his rookie campaign in 2020, Hurts completed 52 percent of his passes for 1,061 yards and six touchdowns, while throwing four interceptions. The Eagles finished 4-11 — the basement of the NFC East division with Philly's frenzied football fans hungry and desperate for a better gridiron display ... one that Hurts would quickly deliver.
Helping the Eagles turn their team around
The second-year QB shook off any lingering effects from that rookie season and introduced Eagles' fans to the Hurts business by asserting himself at quarterback and leading the team to a 9-8 record for second place in the NFC East. Hurts helped the Eagles achieve the mark by completing 61.3 percent of his passes for 3,144 yards and 16 touchdowns, while accumulating 784 rushing yards and 10 rushing TDs.
The Eagles made it to the Wild Card playoffs, where they were routed by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, but it was clear that Hurts had the franchise rolling in the right direction.
Hurts' best year yet: Leading Eagles to the Super Bowl
Hurts took a 9-8 Eagles team in 2021 and made them arguably the best powerhouse squad in the league in 2022 behind a career-best season. The year had him completing 66.5 percent of his passes for 3,701 yards and 22 touchdowns — all career-highs — in leading the Eagles to a 14-3 regular season. He also added 760 yards and 13 TDs rushing.
That brilliance paved the way for Hurts and the Eagles to stomp all over the New York Giants and San Francisco 49ers to punch their ticket to Super Bowl LVII, where they were edged by the Kansas City Chiefs, 38-35.
