One stadium stands out as the worst in the NFL.

Players across the NFL have had their say on what the worst stadium in the league is, and there is a clear selection.

Answering an anonymous poll for The Athletic, players also got to vote for their favourite stadiums, biggest trash talkers and best players.

The Washington Commanders' home ground - FedEx Field - came second in the poll of the worst stadium with 13.9% of the vote, but that was almost a full 5% behind the 'winner'.

The stadium voted the worst in the NFL by players is MetLife Stadium, home to the New York Giants and New York Jets.

MetLife Stadium being voted the worst in the NFL is not a huge shock, as fans have regularly criticised it.

One of the biggest factors in the vote was MetLife's artificial turf pitch which is in contrast to most of the stadiums in the league which have grass.

Turf has recently been found to cause a higher chance of injury, while Aaron Rodgers and Sterling Shepard are just two examples of players who have suffered suspected season-ending injuries at MetLife Stadium this season.

Players were allowed to leave comments with their votes, with one saying "turf sucks and the whole place is lame" when describing the stadium.

Perhaps the most scathing comment came from another player, who said: "Fans are horrible. Everything about that place is horrible."

The next game at MetLife Stadium is the Jets' Week 12 match against the Miami Dolphins.
