Brendan Loughnane reveals major injury he suffered before PFL FinalsPFL

2022 PFL champion Brendan Loughnane looked to be just moments away from getting his title back at the 2024 PFL Finals. He'd had a stellar near-perfect season and was just one fight away. But what we all didn't know was Loughnane was suffering from a serious injury that would impact his performance.

According to Loughnane, he heard a "loud pop" during his last training session with would amount to "significant damage" to his knee.

"I was left with the choice to continue with the fight and roll a dice or pull out," he wrote on Twitter. "I always wonder what if."

He says that he's glad he decided to fight and gave props to his opponent, Timur Khizriev, who won via a dominant decision in the main event.

"Even at 100 percent his style is a very difficult one to navigate and he posses massive problems for anyone in the world at featherweight," he wrote.

Loughnane was decisively not at 100 percent as he posted his medical report which included several sprains, tears and more.
