Conor McGregor: 'I'd like to see Jones fulfill his destiny'DAZN

Conor McGregor saw Jon Jones's dominance at light heavyweight for years.

Now, "Notorious" would like nothing more than to see "Bones" start a new reign as heavyweight champion of the world.

"I'd like to see Jones fulfill his destiny, go up to heavyweight and be successful," McGregor told the UFC while in attendance at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas on Saturday night for UFC 285.

"It's a tough fight," McGregor added about Jones moving up in weight to take on Cyril Gane. "I wish both men well. I'd like to see Jones do it.

"I like Gane also, though," he tacked on with a smile, "so, I'm neutral."

McGregor is spearheading the coaching for "The Ultimate Fighter 31" before taking on fellow coach Michael Chandler. The two will exchange fireworks in the Octagon thereafter.

McGregor hasn't fought since suffering a fractured leg in a July 2021 loss to Dustin Poirier.
