Conor McGregor suggests Justin Gaethje's next move — and it's not in MMADAZN

Justin Gaethje should consider a move to the Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship (BKFC), according to Conor McGregor.

Gaethje was last in action in April, when he was on the wrong end of a knockout by Max Holloway at UFC 300. The 35-year-old lost the "BMF" title in that bout, and the future is uncertain for the veteran MMA fighter.

With Gaethje stating that it'll be "six months, at least" before he competes again, speculation on his long-term future will only grow as time goes on. McGregor believes Gaethje's destiny lies in BKFC, as that would be the most "exciting" option according to the former two-weight UFC champion.

Speaking to The MacLife, McGregor laid out his case for why Gaethje should go the bare knuckle route should he decide to leave the UFC.

“We've seen former UFC champions or UFC veterans move to other mixed martial arts promotions," McGregor said. "We've seen them fight MMA all their career and now they still fight MMA. It doesn't pop for me.

"Now let's take Justin Gaethje, who is a UFC veteran, former BMF holder, interim belt holder - take him, let's put him in Bare Knuckle. That's exciting, that's really, really exciting.

"Now let's take him and put him in another MMA organisation, not so [exciting]."
