Finally, it's happening.
Conor McGregor will make his return to the Octagon on June 29 to face Michael Chandler at UFC 303 in Las Vegas, as announced by Dana White during the UFC 300 post-event press conference Saturday night.
"It's all about timing," White told reporters about finally making the highly-anticipated fight. "Chandler has been ready but Conor hasn't been ready. He had a lot of obligations that he had to deal with. What you don't want him doing is accepting a fight when he's got a ton of obligations and he can't train 100 percent for a fight, so here we are tonight."
McGregor, 35, hasn't fought since suffering a fractured leg against Dustin Poirier at UFC 264 back in July 2021.
Chandler hasn't competed in the Octagon since losing to Poirier in November 2022.
The McGregor vs. Chandler fight will be contested five rounds at 170 pounds.
