Dricus Du Plessis reached the pinnacle of the UFC middleweight division when he defeated Sean Strickland for the title in Toronto earlier this year, and now the South African is looking ahead to his first title defence.
The 30-year-old claimed a split decision victory over then-champion Strickland to win the belt, and a rematch against the American could be in the cards in the near future.
Also prominent in the middleweight title picture is Israel Adesanya, a former two-time champion in the division who lost the title to Strickland just four months before Du Plessis' title victory.
With Strickland and Adesanya ranked Nos. 1 and 2 by the UFC, respectively, Du Plessis took to social media to ask the fans who he should face next.
"Since this is a spectator sport," Du Plessis wrote on X (formerly Twitter). "What do you guys think? @SStricklandMMA or @stylebender (Adesanya)."
The champion showed no preference between challengers, adding: "Just for the record it makes absolutely no difference to me the result will be the same."
