MMA fans are eager to see the two heavyweights go head-to-head inside the cage.

Francis Ngannou is not just a huge star in MMA, but also in boxing after a credible performance against WBC world heavyweight champion Tyson Fury on Saturday night.

But when it comes to Ngannou's next move, it is likely that he will return to the world of MMA early next year when he makes his debut for the Professional Fighters League (PFL)

It is unknown as to who could be a potential opponent for Ngannou, but there is one man fans are eager to see the Cameroonian face and that is the current UFC heavyweight champion Jon Jones.

The pair faced off at a PFL event in June and as expected, the atmosphere was electric, but if the two were to meet there are number of roadblocks which would need to be navigated, including the fact that both men are contracted to different MMA promotions.

Speaking to DAZN, PFL Europe Head of Fighter Operations Dan Hardy explained what would need to happen if Ngannou was to fight Jones.

"The only way this is going to happen in my opinion is if there is some flexibility with Dana White and if he sees the value in allowing this fight to happen," Hardy said.

"Whatever we can do to get the fight to happen, the issue that we are going to have is that Ngannou still has a good chance of beating Jon Jones which means that the current UFC heavyweight champion is not the best fighter in the world.

"That does so much damage to the belt itself and it validates Ngannou and the PFL as well.

"I feel for Jon Jones because he is a man who wants challenges. The face off was fantastic, I was a couple of feet away and the air was electric, but he’s going to run out of challenges very soon."
