Dustin Poirier was taken down three times by Benoit Saint Denis in the opening round of their UFC 299 co-main event, relinquishing too much control time to the French fighter.
But Poirier's team told him that Denis isn't on his level between rounds and "The Diamond" proved that assertion correct in the second.
There, he dropped Denis with a crunching left hand, before detonating a vicious right hook which slept him instantly for a rousing knockout win.
The picture-perfect knockout was easily one of the best finishes of Poirier's career.
Poirier entered the fight as No. 3 on the UFC's lightweight rankings behind No. 1 Charles Oliveira and No. 2 Justin Gaethje as they all look up at division champion Islam Makhachev.
