Five years after their first fight, former interim UFC lightweight champions Dustin Poirier and Justin Gaethje meet again at UFC 291.
The first fight between the pair, back in April 2018, and considered one of the best fights of that year, saw Poirier win the war of attrition with a fourth-round by TKO.
Poirier is the second seed in the lightweight division, one place ahead of Gaethje. And while the lightweight title is not up for grabs, the UFC'S 'BMF' belt will be on the line.
Both fighters landed huge shots in their first fight, with Poirier's front leg coming under significant attack from Gaethje who absorbed body shots throughout.
Ahead of the rematch, Gaethje has said he will get revenge by "being more technical than Poirier", but the Louisiana fight thinks that is a mistake.
"If he tries to take his time and be methodical I'll show you levels," Poirier said in the final press conference before UFC 291.
"I think his best chance is to catch me, be crazy and land a shot. I want to go there, that's where I do my best work.
"Justin has that aura about him now, of chaos and being the most violent, but I am that and he knows it. So let's go there."
