Dan Hardy believes Anthony Joshua is scared about facing the former UFC heavyweight champion, Francis Ngannou, in what would be a huge crossover fight.
Ngannou recently announced that he will be continuing his MMA career in the Professional Fighters' League (PFL), but before making his PFL debut in 2024, he is still keen on making his professional boxing debut before the end of the year.
Due to his star power, Ngannou has been linked with a number of the heavyweight division's biggest names including two-time world heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua.
If the two were to meet, it would be a contest which surely cannot disappoint with both men known for their immense punching power.
However, when discussing the prospect of the Ngannou and Joshua going head-to-head on The DAZN MMA Show, Dan Hardy claims it will be Joshua who will stop the fight from happening due to the dangers which Ngannou can pose.
"If you put Francis Ngannou in there against Anthony Joshua, I feel like he has a good chance of putting Anthony Joshua out cold," Hardy claimed.
"Of all the heavyweights on the planet right now who are elite level, I feel like Anthony Joshua is the best one for Francis Ngannou to fight.
"I know that he doesn’t want the fight and I think that’s because he knows that Ngannou would be too dangerous to deal with."
