UFC heavyweight contender Jailton Almeida believes Jon Jones will make easy work of Stipe Miocic if the two were to meet for the UFC heavyweight title later this year.
Jones finally made his heavyweight debut in March and beat Ciryl Gane in the first round of their contest for the vacant UFC heavyweight title.
Now fans are eager to see what will be Jones' next move with many expecting a first title defence against the former two-time champion Miocic.
Brazil's Almeida will have a keen eye if this fight were to be made, but when it comes to a prediction, he thinks the contest can only go one way.
"There is no question Jon Jones is going to win this fight and beat Stipe Miocic," Almedia said when speaking in his role as an ambassador for Stake.com.
"Obviously Jon Jones moving up to heavyweight, we haven’t seen a lot of him because his fight with Ciryl Gane didn’t last particularly long.
“Although we have a lot of questions about Jones at heavyweight, I still think he will win that fight. Miocic just has not fought regularly enough, he is trying to get back to a level we haven’t seen for two years. Therefore, I make Jon Jones the favourite for this fight.”
Almeida will be looking to continue forging his own path towards a title shot when he takes on Jairzinho Rozenstruik on Saturday, May 13 in North Carolina.
