Jon Jones is training to defend his heavyweight world championship against former two-time titleholder Stipe Miocic later this year.
But the call for the MMA legend to fight interim champ Tom Aspinall afterwards has been on the uptick steadily.
Jones took to his X social media account Monday and toyed with retirement but also fighting Aspinall via a series of back-and-forth posts.
"Bones" started off by saying that his days in the Octagon are numbered.
But he couldn't refrain responding to a fan's comment about fighting Aspinall, offering:
The "maybe the UFC will offer me a deal I can't refuse" comment made its way to Dana White who held a press conference Monday night following his latest installment of Dana White's Contender Series.
"That's what I think he'll do," White said about Jones fighting Miocic and then accepting the challenge from Aspinall. "It's always the same dealing with Jon.
"Jon is a very unique individual to deal with. Jon Jones will fight everybody," White continued. "There's no way in hell that Jon Jones doesn't want to fight Aspinall — that I guarantee you."
That said, Jones did end his series of posts responding to a fan and stating his belief that walking away from MMA after the Miocic fight would be an "amazing way" to wrap up his legendary career.
