Justin Gaethje makes brutal response to Conor McGregor tweets after UFC 291 win

Justin Gaethje makes brutal response to Conor McGregor tweets after UFC 291 winDAZN
Justin Gaethje produced an impressive knockout win against Dustin Poirier on Saturday night.

Justin Gaethje already finds himself embroiled in a heated exchange with Conor McGregor following his victory at UFC 291.

Five years after being knocked out by Dustin Poirier, Gaethje got revenge in Salt Lake City where a head kick in round two brought the fight to an abrupt end.

But as ever during major UFC events, McGregor struggles to stay silent and took to X (formerly known as Twitter) to give his thoughts on Gaethje's performance.

"Justin, I'll slap you around," McGregor posted on X

McGregor then followed up this social media post with the following, "I’m the real bmf, he can fight for pennies if he wants but I want spirits, I call the shots, I’m in it to launch shots, f—k chandler, you want it call for it."

When asked to respond to McGregor's comments in his post fight press conference, it's safe to say that Gaethje did not hold back when it came to this thoughts on the Irishman.

"I fight MMA. I like to fight big fights, I like exciting things, so it sounds pretty exciting to me. I’m not gonna fight someone on steroids. I’ve never taken steroids in my life, and I never will. Well, maybe when I retire, I might," Gaethje told reporters.

"But I’ve never taken steroids, and I don’t want to fight someone who is cheating. And I probably shouldn’t even say that if I want the McGregor fight, but it’s the truth."
