What is a suloev stretch?

A suloev stretch is a submission in MMA which pulls an opponent's leg in such a way that it takes the hamstring muscles to the limits of their flexibility.

This move can cause serious injury by tearing the muscles in the back of the thigh.

How to set-up a suloev stretch?

The most common set-up is when the attacker takes on an opponent who has his hands and feet on the floor, and elevates his hips.

The attacker will then grab one of ankles of his opponents and pull it towards the upper body. This will then elongate the hamstring muscles in the back of the thigh causing great pain and possible muscle damage if not released.
