Paddy Pimblett believes his fellow MMA fighters should strive for more open communication in regards to mental health.
The UFC star has been a public advocate for men's mental health, specifically in MMA, and he feels that fighters engaging in simple conversation could go a long way towards improving any issues affecting his fellow combatants.
"I just hope everyone starts talking," Pimblett told The Action Network. "I've experienced it myself. You know what I mean?
"It happened the other week when I was fighting Bobby [King Green]. I said about my mental health a couple of weeks out from the fight, like, five, six weeks out from the fight. I just had people attacking me saying, ‘oh, he's only doing this to get some fans. He's only doing this for this and that’.
"I know what it's like to have people online giving me s—t, especially in positions where you may put themselves out there, and people just want to attack here just to make themselves feel better. Like, I just let everyone know that no matter how many people attack you, how many people say s—t about you, you can do whatever the f—k he wants if you put your mind to it. Look at me – I'm just a rag from Liverpool. I'm taking over the f—king world."
