Savannah Marshall challenged Claressa Shields to a “full MMA rules” clash after making her PFL debut.
Marshall defeated Mirela Vargas in the first round of the PFL Europe event in Newcastle on Saturday night.
It was a solid start to her MMA career, as she followed the crossover made by her long-time rival Shields.
Shields has a 2-1 record in PFL, and is next in action in the boxing ring, as she aims to become champion at light heavyweight on July 27 live on DAZN against Vanessa Joanisse .
Marshall and Shields fought as amateurs - the Briton inflicting the American’s only boxing defeat - but when they met as professionals in 2022, it was Shields who emerged victorious.
Marshall has admitted she moved over to the PFL in pursuit of another showdown with her rival, and speaking in the cage after he win, she aimed a challenge at the fighter, who was in attendance.
"Are we getting it on in the cage or what?" Marshall said. "Let's do it. Full MMA rules. Let's go!"
"These MMA fighters, you've got to be a little bit crazy to do this.
"I've loved it, fight week, the training, the MMA community has welcomed me with open arms. It's a tough sport and I take my hat off to anyone who does it."
