The interim UFC champion wants to make a statement.

Anticipation is building ahead of the UFC's return to the UK later this month.

UFC 304 will take place at the recently opened Co-Op Live in Manchester, and one of British MMA's marquee stars is set to feature.

Tom Aspinall, who holds the UFC interim heavyweight title, will be in action, and he will be out to settle the score in a second fight against Curtis Blaydes.

The pair first fought at a UFC event in London two years ago, but unfortunately for Aspinall, the fight had to be stopped in the opening round after the British star suffered a knee injury.

Since then Aspinall has become one of the heavyweight division's biggest names and is knocking on the door for a chance to face UFC heavyweight champion Jon Jones.

But first, he must get past Blaydes and when speaking to Prime Casino ahead of the rematch, Aspinall predicted a brutal finish in his home city.

"It's heavyweight MMA and anything can happen, I feel like I always have to say that just to cover all aspects. However, I feel like this ends with an absolutely horrendous knockout and me being the winner," Aspinall said.

"That's how I definitely see it going."
