UFC light heavyweight veteran Alexander Gustaffson believes that MMA star Khamzat Chimaev can still beat the biggest names in the division.
Chimaev was due to take on New Zealand’s Robert Whittaker on Saturday, when UFC took place in Saudi Arabia.
However Chimaev had to pull out through illness, and was replaced by Ikram Alikserov, who lost by way of knockout.
Gustafsson told Crypto Sports Betting that Chimaev’s illness might have been caused by the intensity of his preparation, but he did not see a risk to his long-term performances.
He added that there were three huge names in the division that Chimaev could beat when he returns to the cage.
He said: “He's going through some hard times right now but I know the guy, he's going to come back stronger and take care of the issue.
“When Khamzat is Khamzat, he beats all of them - Leon Edwards, Israel Adesanya and Dricus Du Plessis.”
