On Saturday the UFC will hosts its final fight card of 2024 live from Tampa, Florida. Headlining the card is a welterweight main event scrap between former interim champion Colby Covington and rising star Joaquin Buckley.
While many eyes will be on the highly important main event, fans shouldn't lose focus on another potential stand out star on the main card ... Vitor Petrino.
Petrino will be returning to the Octagon after suffering his first professional loss last May. In that fight Petrino fell to a first-round submission against veteran Anthony Smith. Petrino will likely be looking to prove himself all over again and rebuild his momentum again.
A motivated fighter looking for vengence is a dangerous one and Dustin Jacoby will need to be prepared for an improved Brazilian. But Jacoby is coming into the fight with similar intentions. He's won just one fight in his last five appearances and will need a win if he wants to keep his UFC career alive.
Something tells me that, no matter which way this fight goes, it may not get out of the first round.
