The UFC will complete its trifecta of fights in the span of a week as heavyweights Alistair Overeem and Walt Harris will headline UFC Fight Night on Saturday, May 16, at the VyStar Veterans Memorial Arena in Jacksonville, Fla.
The co-main event features a women's strawweight showdown with former title contender Claudia Gadelha as she looks to climb back up the ladder for another crack at the title. In her way will be the surging Angela Hill, who has won three in a row and looks to position herself as a force among the women at strawweight.
Harris returns to the Octagon for the first time since last July when he needed only 12 seconds to stop Aleksei Oleinik. He was slated to face Overeem in December, but he pulled out of the fight when tragedy struck. Harris' stepdaughter, Aniah Blanchard, went missing, and her remains were later found in woods in Alabama.
Harris continues to fight for his stepdaughter's memory and will look to climb into the upper echelon of the heavyweight division.
Overeem is coming off of a brutal loss to Jairzinho Rozenstruik, who replaced Harris in the December bout. The former Strikeforce heavyweight champion was on his way to victory when he was shockingly knocked out with four seconds left in the fight. He'll look to get back on track in a heavyweight tilt with major implications for the division.
