The Tennessee Titans were set to host the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday in what would've been a contest between two unbeaten teams, but the AFC heavyweight bout will have to wait.
On Friday, the NFL announced that the game was delayed until Week 7 after the Titans confirmed several positive coronavirus tests within the team. The postponement means that both the Steelers and TItans will have their bye weeks now rather than later in the season.
The positive tests within the Titans' camp came days after Tennessee had defeated the Vikings, but Minnesota announced Friday that they've had no positive tests this week — paving the way for the Vikings' Week 4 game against the Houston Texans on Sunday to go on as scheduled.
Why was the Steelers-Titans game postponed?
The Titans confirmed several positive coronavirus tests this week, with the Associated Press reporting Friday that two more players had tested positive — bringing the team's total to 14. The NFL postponed the game on Thursday before announcing a new date for the contest on Friday.
When will the Steelers-Titans game be rescheduled?
The Steelers will travel to Nashville to face the Titans on Oct. 25 at 1 p.m. ET.
The Steelers were originally scheduled to face the Ravens on that date, but that game now has been moved to Nov. 1 — which had been a bye week for both teams.
