There is one clear favourite to finish top of the group.

Group D of this season's UEFA Women's Champions League (UWCL) is an interesting one.

With Chelsea, many will be tipping Emma Hayes' team to make easy work of the group and finish top, but it's the three other teams which will generate interest in the battle for second place.

BK Hacken, Paris FC and Real Madrid are all teams looking to prove that they are serious contenders in Europe's top club competition and should produce some entertaining matches in this group.

Here's everything you need to know about Group D.

Chelsea

Chelsea F.C. Women have been at the forefront of English football's rise in the women's game.

Managed by the astute Emma Hayes, Chelsea is a blend of tactical intelligence and individual brilliance. With world-class talents like Sam Kerr and Fran Kirby, Chelsea is a threat to any team they face.

As they enter Group D, they will look to assert their dominance and aim for the top spot to ease their path in the knockout stages.

BK Häcken

Sweden's BK Häcken steps into Group D as a formidable force, known for their disciplined approach and team cohesion.

Their rise to the UWCL group stage is a result of a long-term vision and investment in women's football. Häcken will rely on their collective strength and tactical nous as they go toe-to-toe with some of Europe's best clubs.

Watch out for Elin Rubensson and Anna Anvegard who will look to make a significant impact.

Paris FC

Paris FC enters the UWCL with a point to prove.

As a club with a proud history and a strong commitment to women's football, they have shown that they can compete with the best on their day, already eliminating teams like Arsenal and Wolfsburg.

The group stage presents them with an opportunity to showcase their progress on the European stage and to upset the established hierarchy.

Real Madrid

Real Madrid's women's team, although relatively new to the scene, carries the weight of expectation that comes with the club's illustrious name.

Their participation in the UWCL is a clear sign of their ambition and the investment they are willing to make. With a squad that combines Spanish flair with international experience like Hayley Raso and Signe Bruun, Real Madrid is more than capable of making a deep run in the competition.

Despite the setback of losing Caroline Weir to an ACL injury, Real Madrid's roster holds enough talent to pose a significant threat to their competitors in the group stages.
