The 2023-24 UEFA Champions League group stage gets underway on Tuesday and one of the first matches on the schedule is AC Milan vs. Newcastle United.
Milan are coming off a woeful performance in the Derby della Madonnina as they were pummeled 5-1 by rivals Inter Milan on Saturday. It was the Giallorossi's first loss of the Serie A campaign so far after three straight wins, but the nature of the defeat has to be of concern for Stefano Pioli heading into Tuesday's match.
Meanwhile, Newcastle were 1-0 winners in a league match against Brentford over the weekend, which put an end to a three-match losing streak. The Magpies now sit 11th in the Premier League, well below their own lofty goals, but manager Eddie Howe will hope that this could spark a turnaround for his struggling side.
