Newcastle United survived an early scare against Sheffield United on Saturday, winning 5-1 at St. James' Park to keep their European dreams alive.
The Magpies gave up a fifth-minute goal to the Premier League cellar dwellers and didn't take the lead until the 54 minute mark, at which point floodgates opened and Newcastle pulled away for good.
Among the goal scorers was Alexander Isak, whose impressive season continued with goals on either side of halftime, pushing him to 19 on the campaign in league play.
But after the game Isak was less interested in talking about his own success as the result keeps Newcastle in the hunt for a berth in Europe next season.
"I'm very happy," Isak told Premier League Productions. "It was important for us to stay in the race for Europe.
"We got off to quite a bad start and needed one goal against us to wake up. The reaction was very good. The manager gave us a wake-up call at half-time."
With just four games left to play, Newcastle are in seventh place and just one point behind Manchester United. Isak stressed the need for his side to not worry about anyone but themselves as they try to get back into continental competition.
"Europe is still alive and we have to focus on ourselves and we'll see how it goes," he said.
