Arne Slot has taken to Liverpool life seamlessly, Chelsea seem to be back in the European hunt, while Aston Villa continue to excel under Unai Emery.
However, when it comes to a player and a team that has stood out more than the rest, Ally McCoist has made a surprise choice.
The co-commentator and former Scotland forward says it's been Nottingham Forest who have impressed, particularly their in-form star striker.
“Chris Wood has to be the player who has impressed me most this season," he told DAZN, thanks to talkSPORT BET.
"Nottingham Forest are sitting seventh in the league at the moment, that is incredible! The Forest fans must be absolutely pinching themselves.
“They’ve got a great balance in their team. You look at what Nuno Espirito Santo has done with his back four; Murillo and Nikola Milenković are absolutely great. I talk about Chris Wood being an old-fashioned centre forward, but those boys at the back just want to defend. It’s absolutely magical to watch.
“They’ve got skill as well. Callum Hudson-Odoi is having a great season on one flank, Anthony Elanga has got tremendous pace on the other. Elliott Anderson has been terrific in the past couple of games as well, especially against Crystal Palace.
“Time will only tell whether they can stay up there, but what I would say to Forest fans is, keep on enjoying it. Because, for me, Chris Wood has been one of the stars of the season – he’s been brilliant! More power to him.”
Nottingham Forest will try and continue their impressive start to the season when they entertain West Ham on Saturday.
