Andy Robertson identifies problems plaguing Liverpool in recent losses

Liverpool's Premier League title hopes took a blow on Sunday when they lost 1-0 at home to Crystal Palace.

The loss comes on the heels of a hugely disappointing performance in the Europa League quarterfinals on Thursday, when the Reds fell 3-0 to visiting Atalanta in the first leg at Anfield.

In fact, Sunday's defeat means Liverpool are winless in three matches across all competitions, and the slump couldn't come at a worse time for Jurgen Klopp's men as they look to keep pace with Manchester City and Arsenal in the league title race while also adding another continental trophy before Klopp leaves his role as manager.

For longtime Liverpool defender Andy Robertson, the teams woes over the past week have boiled down to a simple lack of execution at both ends of the pitch.

To Robertson's point, Liverpool outshot and outpossessed Crystal Palace by a wide margin on Sunday but still came away on the losing end in a crucial match.

"It's been the story of the last few games and that's why we have been punished in these games," Robertson told Sky Sports "We are struggling to keep clean sheets right now. I don't know how many we have had in the last 10 or 15 games but it won't be many. When you do that you have to take chances. As simple as that.

"The boys in front of goal have to do better [as well]. But the boys at the back, as defensive unit as a whole, we have to do better. Which isn't great thing for success. So frustrating today. So many chances. First half I thought we were poor and they were on top and could have been more than 1-0 up. Second half we had enough chances to win two or three games."
