Former Arsenal defender believes that Mikel Arteta’s new goalkeeping addition, David Raya, could win them the title.
Raya has arrived on a season-long loan from Brentford and the Spaniard is expected to complete a permanent deal in the summer.
That move has given Aaron Ramsdale competition for his place and Raya has already made his debut.
Lauren believes that by having competition for every position in the starting line-up could give Arsenal the edge over the course of the season.
He told bettingsites.co.uk: “I believe that Arsenal always want to have the best players in their team, and signing David Raya has increased the competitiveness amongst the team.
“I think Mikel Arteta has been thinking about having Aaron Ramsdale to get them into the Champions League [last season], but now with Raya as well, they will be fighting to win the Premier League.
"That’s why I think Raya has been signed by Arsenal – because Arteta is thinking about that next step to challenge for the league and win it.
Lauren even suggested that Arteta might swap his goalkeepers within a match, saying: “We have seen it in every other position, so why not?
"If for some reason he thinks it will benefit the team to substitute the goalkeeper then he should do it. In the end, it’s the manager’s decision, and the players have to accept it!”
