Arsenal's waning Premier League title hopes took a massive hit on Sunday after the club fell 3-0 at home to Brighton & Hove Albion.
The Gunners entered the weekend a point behind league leaders Manchester City, who breezed past relegation-threatened Everton by an identical scoreline earlier Sunday to go up four points and put the onus on the north Londoners to keep pace.
That didn't happen as Arsenal fell apart in the second half against a lively Brighton side, with Patrick Vieira saying after the match that the title race is as good as over.
"I'm really sorry to say that [the title race is over]. I think it will be impossible to see City let it go now," said Vieira, who starred for Arsenal from 1996 to 2005. "It was a must-win game for Arsenal. They had a lack of energy and it looked like City's result [against Everton] killed their legs."
Man City, who have played one fewer league game than Arsenal this season, can win the Premier League title with a victory in any of their three remaining matches.
