Arsenal look to maintain their five-point lead atop the Premier League standings when thery host Manchhester United at Emirates Stadium on Sunday.
The Gunners have looked near perfect in recent weeks as the teams nearest to them have stumbled, but United have announced themselves as another contender with a red-hot run of form that has seen them climb into third place and just three points back of crosstown rivals Manchester City, who occupy the second rung on the league ladder.
More specifically to Arsenal, the Red Devils are the only team to have taken three points from them in league play this season, claiming their Sept. 4 meeting at Old Trafford via a 3-1 score line. As such, Arsenal are in the mood for a bit of payback in addition to maintaining their advantage in the title race, and Mikel Arteta believes his squad learned from their lone defeat.
"There were some important lessons about that game and the reason why we lost it," the Arsenal manager said. "In many moments we were in total control of the day. But we know that’s one of the qualities of Man United - when you are in control of the match, the game gets away from you because they have so much individual talent, good organisation and many ways to create problems. We’ll have to be at our best to win on Sunday."
