It finally struck midnight on Atalanta's Champions League Cinderella story.
PSG claimed a 2-1 victory over the Serie A side on Wednesday after late heroics by Neymar and Kylian Mbappe helped reverse an early Atalanta lead. The Italian side appeared destined to hold on despite being wholly outplayed in the second half, but a fortuitous goal by Marquinhos and a stoppage time winner from Eric Choupo-Moting sealed the game and a berth in the semifinals for the Parisians.
After Mario Pasalic stunned PSG with a 26th-minute curler to put Atalanta ahead, Neymar and Co. slowly took over the game. PSG's Brazilian superstar was seemingly everywhere throughout the match, although a trio of poor finishes in the opening 45 minutes belied his otherwise superb play. As PSG gained more confidence and possession, Atalanta retreated further and appeared content to simply hold on in the face of a growing onslaught.
Mbappe's entrance at the hour mark gave PSG even more thrust, with the 21-year-old speedster giving the opposition backline fits from his first few moments on the field. The youngster's presence gave Neymar more room to roam, and he finally created a goal in the 90th minute as PSG poured forward in desperate search of the equalizer.
After receiving a lofted cross 10 yards from goal, Neymar turned and hit a scuffed left-footed pass that found Marquinhos for a one-timed shot that banked off a defender and into the net.
The goal lifted PSG immensely, and within minutes the comeback was complete after a picture-perfect Neymar through-ball into the penalty area found a surging Mbappe, who then squared it over to Choupo-Moting for an easy tap-in.
The result sees PSG through to the Champions League semifinals for the first time since 1995.

4:38 p.m. - Neymar works his way through three defenders inside the area, but his shot his easily saved as he was leaning back and couldn't muster enough power.

4:35 p.m. - CHANCE! Mbappe gets his first look at goal from a tight angle after streaking in down the left. Well saved by the Atalanta 'keeper, but it was the type of shot that should be stopped at this level.

4:19 p.m. - CHANCE! Djimsiti flashes it just wide after a free kick is bounced around inside the PSG 18-yard box. That likely would've been game over.
