The German side easily dispatched of Lazio over two legs.

Bayern Munich defeated Lazio 2-1 on Wednesday, wrapping up their Champions League round of 16 tie with the German side claiming a 6-2 aggregate victory.

Goals by Robert Lewandowski and Eric Choupo-Moting gave Bayern the second-leg victory as the defending champions appeared confident throughout the match despite a late strike by Lazio's Marco Parolo. Of course, Bayern could approach the match casually given the three-goal cushion they had built up from the 4-1 first-leg victory last month.

Regardless, it was another professional performance from Die Roten, with Lewandowski's 33rd-minute penalty all but wrapping up the tie. After Leon Goretzka was brought down inside the Lazio area, all eyes were on Lewandowski as the Polish striker stepped up and fired low into the bottom-left corner.

Things were academic from that point and it wasn't until Choupo-Moting's chip in the 73rd minute that either side was able to find the back of the net again. Parolo would follow with a nice header to give Lazio a consolation prize in the 83rd, but by then both sides knew their respective fates.

Bayern will find out its next opponent on Friday when the quarter-final draw is conducted at UEFA headquarters in Switzerland.
