Bukayo Saka was in the middle of everything as England completed another comeback in the knockout stages at Euro 2024, with the Three Lions beating Switzerland in a penalty shootout on Saturday to reach the semi-finals.
Saka scored the 80th-minute equaliser after England gave up the game's opening goal to Switzerland's Breel Embolo five minutes earlier, and he coolly slotted home his spot-kick as his side were perfect through the shootout.
For Saka, the result was a just one.
"I am going to put it up there, special," Saka told the BBC. "How we fought back and to go to penalties.
"Last time we took a penalty shootout at the Euros we know what happened. I believed. I felt like we dominated the whole game and the chance would come and I took it - I am proud of myself for that."
The 22-year-old was just a teenager when England lost on penalties in the Euro 2020 final to Italy, with Saka missing the decisive kick at Wembley that day.
After facing racial abuse on social media following that shootout three years ago, Saka explained how he was able to step up to take a penalty kick on Saturday.
"I have faith in God," Saka said. "To come back from something like that is really difficult. Today I took the chance."
