It's always fun when two in-form teams meet in European competition, and Thursday's Celtic vs. A.C. Milan clash certainly qualifies as such.
On Matchday 1 of the 2020-21 UEFA Europa League, the current leader of Serie A travels to Glasgow to face the second place team in the Scottish Premiership. Milan has been the surprise of the Italian top flight thus far, winning all four of its games to sit atop the Serie A table with just a single goal against.
The Rossoneri are led by 39-year-old striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic, who continues to defy Father Time as he remains Milan's most dangerous player. Despite only having played two Serie A games this season, Ibrahimovic sits atop the goal scoring leaderboard with four goals (along with five other players). Ibrahimovic's presence cannot be ignored, and it's something Celtic will need to deal with on Thursday.
The Bhoys are once again in the thick of a two-horse race for supremacy of the Scottish Premiership, sitting four points behind arch-rival Rangers after 10 games played (Rangers have played 11 matches). Celtic has won all but one of its past nine matches in all competitions, although ithe loss came over the weekend to the aformentioned Rangers in the Old Firm Derby.
Celtic will need to quickly put the emotional defeat in the past, as Milan represents a far bigger challenge.
