The 2020-21 UEFA Champions League group stage reaches the midway point with Matchday 3 this week.
After the first two rounds of play, the bigger teams have started rising to the top of their respective groups — although there are a few notable exceptions. Group B is the most obvious example of this as Real Madrid and Inter Milan occupy the bottom two spots heading into their big matchup on Tuesday.
Meanwhile, unlikely Group B leader Shakhtar Donetsk takes on Borussia Moenchengladbach to kick off the week's action as both teams look to stay ahead of their more glamourous group-mates.
Elsewhere, Borussia Dortmund looks to leapfrog second-place Club Brugge when the teams square off in a Group F clash on Wednesday.
The biggest storyline of the week is Cristiano Ronaldo's potential return to Juventus' starting lineup after he missed the first two matchdays recovering from the coronavirus. Ronaldo scored twice in his Serie A return for Juve over the weekend, and the team will surely welcome the Champions League's all-time leading scorer back into the fold as it chases Barcelona in Group G.
