That's the scenario facing the 12 clubs participating in the 2020-21 UEFA Champions League playoff round, as the final step before the tournament proper gets underway.
The teams will play a two-legged, aggregate series against a fellow qualifier for the right to enter the lucrative group stage, where the likes of Bayern Munich, Liverpool and Real Madrid await. The losers of the playoff round are placed into the 2020-21 Europa League, providing another chance at continental glory.
UEFA utilized its 2020 club coefficients to seed the teams and create the pairings in the playoffs, although Dynamo Kyiv (Ukraine) and Krasnodar (Russia) were placed in separate fixtures for political reasons.
