It seems like Bayern Munich has barely finished celebrating its UEFA Champions League title, yet the draw for the 2020-21 edition of the continental tournament is here.

With playoff fixtures now complete, we have the full picture of the teams participating in the group stage. The bigger names in this year's tournament — the likes of Juventus, Barcelona, Real Madrid, PSG and Manchester United — booked their places in the group stage via their domestic performances, and we'll soon find out each club's path through the competition.

What is the 2020-21 Champions League group stage draw?

As usual, this year's Champions League group stage will consist of 32 teams. The draw will create eight separate groups of four, with the top two teams from each group advancing to the knockout stage.

Ahead of the draw, teams are split into four seeding pots. Pot 1 consists of the title holder (Bayern), the UEFA Europa League champion (Sevilla) and the champions of each of the top six associations based on UEFA's country coefficient rankings (Real Madrid, Liverpool, Juventus, PSG, Zenit Saint Petersburg, Porto).

Pots 2-4 are populated according to the club coefficients.

Teams from the same association cannot be drawn together in the same group.

When is the 2020-21 Champions League draw?

This year's Champions League group stage draw will take place at the House of European Football in Nyon, Switzerland, on Thursday, Oct. 1, at 11 a.m. ET.

Who won last season's Champions League?

Bayern Munich completed the treble when it won the 2019-20 Champions League title.

Die Roten defeated Paris Saint-Germain 1-0 in the final thanks to a 59th-minute strike from Kingsley Coman. The match capped a dominant run through the tournament during which Bayern won all 11 games during the competition.

Included in Bayern's victories was a famous 8-2 result against Barcelona in the quarterfinal.
