Bayern Munich's defence of the Champions League title can now begin as the draw for the group stage took place Thursday, setting the roadmap for all 32 participating teams.
The German giant was drawn into a group with Atletico Madrid, Red Bull Salzburg and Lokomotiv Moskva on a night when the club also claimed several individual awards for its dominant run through last season's tournament.
Other notable groups include Group H — which pits Paris Saint-Germain against Manchester United — and a Group G drawing that sees Cristiano Ronaldo's Juventus face Lionel Messi and Barcelona.
In addition to the group stage draw, UEFA handed out individual awards at Thursday's gala in Geneva. Among the highlights are Robert Lewandowski claiming Men's Player of the Year and Forward of the Season, while Olympique Lyonnais Féminin hauled in four awards after the French club won its seventh Champions League crown.
