Glasgow Rangers would finish in the top half of the English Premier League if they were ever given a chance to compete in it.
That’s the verdict of former Rangers player, Charlie Adam, who made a decent impact south of the border when representing Blackpool, Liverpool, and Stoke City.
Due to their long-time domination in Scotland alongside their city rivals, Celtic, the talk of the Glasgow giants joining the Premier League is a frequent conversation.
Although a huge gulf currently exists between the two leagues, the size of Rangers as one of European football’s biggest clubs, gives Adam the confidence that they could do well in England.
“It’s tough. The English Premier League is a top-quality league,” said the former Scottish international when speaking to Neue Online Casinos
“Rangers would need big investment. If they got that they would be in the top 10 and eventually they’d progress and be able to attract the players.
They’re a big, big club and they would attract the best players if they were in the English Premier League, there's no doubt about that but it takes time to build. At the moment it would be very tough. The distance and the gap is too much.
Adam added, “I think Celtic would be about the same. Both clubs would have to invest very heavily to be able to go and compete down there.”
