This is a big one.
Sunday's Chelsea vs. Tottenham match pits a pair of Premier League title contenders head-to-head, with only two points separating the sides as they head into Matchday 10. Along with Liverpool, the two London clubs make up the top attacking teams in the circuit and boast some of the most feared scorers in England.
The Blues and Spurs each hold a plus-12 goal differential and both bring a multiple match-winning streak into Sunday's clash.
In other words: there's very little to separate the sides.
The in-form clubs will meet at Stamford Bridge on Sunday with tons on the line as they jostle for position atop the standings. Prior to this weekend's matches, the top seven teams were all within five points of each other, placing a premium on every game — but a match between two traditional powers usually means so much more as taking a big win can provide a mental boost and serve as a message to the rest of the league.
If Chelsea is going to take all three points at home against a surging Tottenham team, it'll have to limit the chances for dynamic dup Son Heung-min and Harry Kane. The Spurs pair has provided much of the team's offence as Son enters the weekend second in the PL in goals with nine, while Kane is the league's top provider with nine assists (to go with seven goals of his own).
On the other end of the pitch, Chelsea's Timo Werner has settled into his new team and has four goals in his first nine PL matches. Werner spearheads a balanced Blues attack that counts four players with three or more goals, with Tammy Abraham, Kurt Zouma and Jorginho each having a trio of goals to their names thus far.
While Chelsea doesn't boast a league-leading attacking duo like Tottenham, the Blues' team-based scoring will present a different kind of challenge for Spurs on Sunday.
