One of the best NFL players is hoping to bring top flight football back to St. Andrew's.

Former Birmingham City forward Clinton Morrison is backing NFL legend Tom Brady to help bring Premier League football to St. Andrew's.

The arrival of Brady as a minority stakeholder in the team has brought a sense of optimism amongst Blues fans with the 46-year-old set to work with the club's board across numerous areas.

Birmingham City have had a strong start to the new EFL Championship season, currently sitting in fourth place and two points away from top of the table Preston North End, but will the Blues be able to maintain this strong start?

Morrison believes the club can, and if they find themselves amongst the race for promotion come Christmas, he claims that a strong January transfer window along with the assistance of Brady at board level can give Birmingham every chance of being a Premier League team for the first time since the 2010/11 season.

"Tom Brady will have a massive effect on Birmingham because he is a winner, he and the hierarchy are going to invest money into the squad as well which can only be a good thing," Morrison told Own the Pitch

"If they are in and amongst it come Christmas, then they can definitely go again in the January window as well.

"There is a massive amount of optimism around the club at the moment and it is fully justified, I think they can really make a go of it."
