Neither Brazil nor Peru were overly convincing in booking their spots for Monday's Copa America semifinal.
Both sides squeaked through their respective quarterfinal match-ups, with both losing a player to a red card in the process.
As such, the Peruvians will be without Andre Carillo for Monday's semi, while the Brazilians cannot call upon the services of Gabriel Jesus after the Manchester City man committed one of the most obvious red-card offences you're ever likely to see.
Jesus' absence is the bigger of the two, of course, but Brazil's depth far outstrips anything Peru can claim. The teams finished first and second, respectively, in Group A, with their group-stage meeting resulting in a comfortable 4-0 victory for the Brazilians.
Notably, Jesus was not among the four Seleção goal-scorers in that match, so the Brazilians will feel confident that they can replicate the group-stage result and advance to the final for the second straight time.
