Dimitar Berbatov on whether a top-four finish or FA Cup title is more important to Manchester United

Manchester United's FA Cup journey continues at the end of the month as they'll face either Bristol City or Nottingham Forest in the fifth round of the competition.

The Red Devils are also up to sixth place in the Premier League after back-to-back wins, and while a run at the title is unlikely, a spot in the Champions League is no longer as unthinkable as it was just a few weeks ago.

Like every team, United will attempt to balance league and cup play, with the demands of multiple competitions taking more of a toll as the season wears on.

One former Man United player believes that the league should take top priority for manager Erik ten Hag, even with the potential of a trophy growing with each passing round in the FA Cup.

Speaking to Betfair, Dimitar Berbatov laid out his reasoning for wanting the Red Devil to prioritise results in the Premier League.

"It's not difficult now for Manchester United," Berbatov said. "If they keep winning, they have a good chance of reaching the top four but if they lose, they won't. All they must do is build on the games they've recently won and hope that the teams around them lose points.

"The priority should be playing Champions League football and getting into the top four."
