Victor Osimhen could be the missing piece of the puzzle that makes Arsenal a Premier League winning club, according to Emmanuel Petit.

A 1997-98 league winner himself with the Gunners, Petit suggested that Osimhen could provide the attacking prowess needed to put the North Londoners over the top.

It's been back-to-back seasons with Arsenal finishing in second place behind Manchester City, and Petit believes his former club will need to add a big piece in order to surpass the reigning champions.

Petit was speaking on behalf of BoyleSports, who offer the latest Champions League betting, and he mentioned that Arsenal will need a few upgrades, listing Osimhen and Manchester United forward Macus Rashford as possibilities for a revamped attack that could challenge for the title.

"I think Arsenal need a 30-goal striker to finally win the Premier League and that man could be Victor Osimhen, who has been amazing with Lille then Napoli," Petit said.

"His dream is to come to England and he could be brilliant here. He’s physically so strong and is an out and out number nine, so he’d be my first choice.

"But as I mentioned, I also think Rashford would be a great addition as he can play out wide and up front. To compete with Man City, Arsenal need four more players, though.

"City can bring on five players with incredible quality and right now, Arsenal can’t, so they need to have a busy summer ahead."
