The best last-ditch strikes for the Three Lions.

England fans are still recovering from the roller-coaster ride of events in their last sixteen victory over Slovakia on Sunday, as the Three Lions squeezed through to the quarter-finals.

No thanks in large part to an injury-time equaliser from the boot of Jude Bellingham that saved England just seconds before they looked like they'd facing an early elimination from the tournament.

Bellingham's wonder goal joins a list of several other famous late England goals, and here's the best of them.

Geoff Hurst vs. Germany (World Cup Final, 1966)

There probably isn't a more iconic goal in English football than Geoff Hurst's 120th-minute screamer, and there certainly isn't a more iconic commentary line in the history of the sport. With 'some people on the pitch' ready to celebrate England's first - and only - World Cup win, Hurst put the tie to bed with a last-minute breakaway that ended in the West Ham striker smashing the ball into the top corner to complete his hat-trick.

David Platt vs. Belgium (World Cup last sixteen, 1990)

You may be familiar with John Motson's 'And England have done it, in the last minute of extra time' from Three Lions. Well, that is the commentary from David Platt's worldie at Italia 90. The midfielder announced his name on the world stage with his last-minute twisting volley that saw England beat Belgium on their memorable way to the semi-finals. The goal and subsequent performances saw Platt earn a move to the glamorous Serie A of the 1990s.

David Beckham vs. Greece (World Cup qualifier, 2001)

Of David Beckham's many iconic moments during his England career, perhaps it's this free-kick against Greece that trumps them all. With seconds remaining at Old Trafford and with England looking like missing out on automatic qualification for the World Cup in Japan, Beckham stepped up for a final free-kick of the afternoon in what was almost a one-man show of a performance. One right-footed masterstroke later, the Manchester crowd was in delirium thanks to his set-piece genius.

Michael Owen vs. Argentina (Friendly, 2005)

Ok, so this was in a friendly, so less important, but it was a game certainly not played like it was meaningless. A match randomly played in Geneva saw Argentina going into the final minutes with a 2-1 lead over one of the famous rivals, until England's boy wonder had his say. Michael Owen equalised for Sven Goran Eriksson's team before heading in the winner two minutes into injury time.

Jude Bellingham vs. Slovakia (Euro 2024 last sixteen, 2024)

The latest get-out-of-jail card came from the brilliant boots of Jude Bellingham. England looked to heading out after a wretched performance against Slovakia, until Bellingham pulled out a stunning bicycle kick seconds from the end to save Gareth Southgate's side and book a quarter-final meeting with Switzerland.
