Manchester City striker Erling Haaland says that Lionel Messi is the best football player of all time.
Messi beat Haaland to win the latest Ballon d'Or and The Best FIFA Men's Player, with the Norwegian coming second place in both.
Messi's name is also thrown in the hat when discussing the best football players of all time, with Pele, Diego Maradona and Cristiano Ronaldo other strong candidates for the 'GOAT' title.
But Haaland, who has over 200 career goals despite being just 23, says Messi is top of the pile.
Ahead of Manchester City's Champions League match against Copenhagen, Haaland was asked if he needs Messi to retire to start winning individual awards, and the striker told Sky Sports: "I don't know, but he is the best that has ever played I think."
