Stars win games.

Belgium proved as much with a come-from-behind 2-1 victory over Denmark on Thursday at Euro 2020. The win propelled the Belgians into sole possession of the top spot in Group B following Russia's victory over Finland a day earlier.

A victory was very much in doubt for the No. 1-ranked side on Thursday, as a second-minute goal by Youssef Poulsen gave the Danes a lead they wouldn't give up until the 54th minute. Denmark matched Belgium for shots on target over the course of the match (five apiece) and held a vast advantage in overall shots (21-6), but the superior skill of the Red Devils was eventually enough to claim all three points.

Second-half substitute Kevin De Bruyne was the master behind both Belgium goals, along with stellar supporting play by Romelu Lukaku. The two men combined to create Thorgan Hazard's 54th-minute equalizer, with Lukaku charging into the Danish penalty area before dishing off to De Bruyne, who instantly eliminated four defenders with two masterful touches then passed to Hazard for an easy tap in from six yards out.

Fifteen minutes later, it was Lukaku's turn to be a wizard with the ball at his feet, as the striker danced his way past three defenders before laying off to Youri Tielemans. The midfielder continued the interplay as Hazard and substitute Eden Hazard each got a touch of the ball, eventually leading to De Bruyne smashing a low, left-footed strike home for the winner.

The victory assures Belgium of advancement into the next round, but Roberto Martinez's men will look to remain perfect with a final group-stage match on Monday against Finland.
