Matchday 2 of the 2020-21 UEFA Europa League kicks off with another 24 games on Thursday.
Once again, three Canadians are expected to play prominent roles for their respective clubs as Milan Borjan, Scott Arfield and Jonathan David all started in last week's matches. Borjan is the undisputed No. 1 for Red Star Belgrade and should get the nod against Liberec (1:55 p.m. ET), although a well-publicized cyber-bullying case involving his family and an executive of a rival Belgrade club may be a distraction for the veteran goalkeeper.
Arfield went 90 minutes for Rangers in their 2-0 win over Standard Liege last week, and the 31-year-old is expected back in the lineup when the Glasgow club hosts Lech Poznan at 4 p.m. ET. Meanwhile, David has struggled to find his footing with Lille after a record transfer to the Ligue 1 club over the summer, and he was not a starter on the weekend against Nice, but the 20-year-old should still see significant time against Celtic (1:55 p.m. ET) — whether it's as a starter or off the bench remains to be seen.
Elsewhere, Arsenal looks to maintain its grip on the top spot in Group B with a win against Dundalk (4 p.m. ET), Roma visits CSKA Sofia (4 p.m. ET) with an eye on first place in Group A, and Milan hosts Sparta Prague (1:55 p.m. ET) with a chance to move to the top of Group H.
