Ex Manchester United and England star reveals how Sir Alex Ferguson would deal with Harry MaguireDAZN
Harry Maguire is under pressure.

Harry Maguire has been in the firing line with some football fans recently and it’s prompted a fiery response from Gareth Southgate to defend his player.

The England defender fired into his own net against Scotland earlier this week and although England managed to win the game 3-1, the aftermath focused on the treatment Maguire is receiving from fans.

West Ham came close to completing a move for the veteran defender earlier in the transfer window but when that deal didn’t materialise, Maguire remained with Manchester United.

A victim of harsh appraisals from fans for both club and country, Maguire’s mother took to social media to support her son.

Gary Pallister, himself a former England and Manchester United defender, has revealed how Sir Alex Ferguson would deal with the current situation.

“Listen, Sir Alex always defended his players,” said Pallister when speaking to DAZN via 888Sport

“Very much the way he dealt with me at that time would be to bring you in, chat with you about how you felt, ask if there’s any reasons why it isnt happening at this moment in time.

“I remember him giving Peter Schmeichel a month off to have a holiday in Barbados in the middle of the season. That was one of the great things about Sir Alex’s management style, the way he dealt with players.”
